Gunmen have reportedly assaulted the old Oyo national park, located in Oke Ogun geopolitical zone.
Reports say some fatalities were recorded amid the shooting.
The number of casualties have not been revealed as at the time of recording this report on Wednesday.
Public Relations Officer of Oyo State Police command, Olayinka Ayanlade affirmed the development.
He said the police and other security agents are right now on their way to the scene.
He made the affirmation in a explanation sent to journalists, Wednesday afternoon.
“Yes there was an assault by yet to be identified men against the men of the national park.
“The Commissioner of Police Oyo State Police Command and other service chief are as of now on their way to the location meanwhile the Commissioner of Police Oyo State Police Command CP Femi Haruna have deployed Tactical teams, Mobile Police Force officer of the NPF and EOD to the affected area to prevent further breakdown of law and order”.
