
Heavy gridlock occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Saturday morning after a truck fell and blocked one lane of the road.
The occurrence happened close to the Ogere Bridge, hindering activity heading towards Ibadan, Saapade, Alapako, and other connecting areas.
Our journalist reports that as motorists diverted to the other lane, traffic movement towards Lagos, Mowe, Ibafo, and other parts of the axis became chaotic.
As of the time of filing this report, both lanes of the expressway were blocked, leaving numerous drivers stranded.
It was learnt that the incident happened late on Friday evening.

Officials of the Nigeria Police Force and the Federal Road Safety Corps were sent to the scene to restore normalcy.
Some authorities at the scene attributed the accident to a mechanical deficiency.
The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to speak to the media, said efforts were ongoing to open one side of the affected lane to ease the gridlock.
